Ramassery Family Tree

In the quiet village of Ramassery, where the air often smells of woodsmoke and fermented rice, time doesn't move in hours, it moves in generations. This is the story of the Ramassery Family Tree, a lineage rooted in the red soil of Palakkad.
The story begins in the late 19th century with R.G. Easwaran.
R.G.Easwaran, known affectionately as Kutty Anna, was a man of quiet strength. Alongside his wife, Rugmani Easwaran he didn't just build a house, he built a foundation. He stayed true to the "Ramassery Feat." Whether it was the rhythmic thrum of the loom or the precise steam of the earthen pots used to make their famous idlis, he knew that quality was the only legacy worth leaving. As the years turned into decades, the tree began to branch.
R.E. Meenakshi,
R.E. Venkitambal,
R.E. Gayatrinadhan,
R.E Narayani,
R.E Subramaniyan,
R.E Sitaraman,
R.E Narayanan, and
R.E Lalitha
became the leaves of the "Ramassery Family tree”.
They weren't just names, they were stories. Each child took a piece of Ramassery with them. Some stayed close to the ancestral hearth, ensuring the steam never stopped rising from the kitchens. Others traveled across borders, carrying the "R.E." initials like a badge of honor in distant cities. No matter how far they flew, the "E" in their name acted as a compass, always pointing back to the patriarch.
Today, the R.G. Easwaran family stands as a living tapestry. To the world, they are the keepers of a rare culinary secret. But to those on the tree, they are something more. They are a reminder that in a world of constant change, there is power in staying "Evergreen."
But in 2025, a young descendant named Rukmini Krishnan (Radhika) looked at the faces of her ancestors captured in faded black-and-white photographs.
She realized that while the family had grown "rapidly," the roots had never loosened. She sat down and wrote the lines that would eventually sit alongside their portraits:

The story remains the same: a family isn't just a list of names, it’s a tree that offers shade to the past and fruit to the future.
The Ramassery Family Tree
For it stands tall and wide
With its roots firm and intact
Years of growth remain
Forming the family pact
The strong bark of relation
With the tender emotions within
The strength of this tree plantation
Is reflected as memories seep in
The quick representation of our family on a sheet
The rapid growth of the family as an entity
The roots intact, the fruits so sweet
Evergreen has been our Ramassery Tree!!!
